HYPPADEC Donates 40 Motorcycles to Enhance Security in Niger

Following the security challenges bedeviling some communities in Niger state the Hydro Power Producing Areas Development Commission HYPPADEC has donated 40 motorcycles to the state government through its Security Trust Fund to enhanced security.

This is part of efforts at protecting lives and properties of Nigerlites and those residing residing in the state. 

Managing Director HYPPADEC,Alhaji Abubakar Sadik Yelwa stated this at the official presentation of the motorcycles in Minna.

Alh Abubakar Sadik Yelwa describing the security challenges as most unfortunate hence the provision of security logistics to ammeliorate their hardship.

He however gave an assurance that this kind of intervention will be sustained to all the affected HYPPADEC states to ensure security of lives and properties just like the recent provision of 2,500 motorcles to communities through their traditional rulers for maximum security.

Alh Abubakar Sadik Yelwa further directed the states HYPPADEC Coordinators to liase with  relevant organisations in accessing the recent impact of flooding in various communities to enable the commission come to their aide.

The Managing Director HYPPADEC lamented that no fewer than 83 communities where completely wiped out due to flooding and called for caution stressing that  plans are under way to ensure the implementation of resettlement centers.

Niger State Security Trust Fund Chairman, Mahmud Mohammad however appreciated the kind gesture of the Commission which he  described as timely and appropriate, while assuring them of  judicious use of the motorcycles to the benefits of members of community.

He applauded the commission for rising to the challenges confronting several Communities especially in times of flooding and insecurity as well as other essential needs of the people.
