The Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Niger state has cautioned its members against embarking on campaign of calumny character assassination intimidation and blackmail to enhance political harmony and understanding.

Chairman of the party Barrister Tanko Beji said this while speaking to Newsmen in Minna the Niger state capital on their state of preparedness for twenty twenty three general elections.

Barrister Tanko Beji charged also them to ensure that issue based campaigns and respect for each others religion and ethnicity remain their watchword towards providing conducive atmosphere for the emergence of credible leaders at all level.

According to him the Niger state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party PDP has embarked on the sensitisation and creation of awareness for its members to be peaceful and orderly as well as shun all acts of thugery during their campaigns to achieve maximum results.

On the proposed local government council elections in Niger state Barrister Tanko Beji said the PDP has dragged the state Independent Electoral Commission to court over alleged violation of constitutional provision and the electoral act.

Though he has refused to answer some questions on the issue he said as a lawyer he is not suppose to comment on any matter before the court to avoid contempt of court insisting that what they are praying for is that the right thing must be done before conducting the election. 

He however expressed satisfaction over steps taken so far by the Independence Electoral Commission INEC towards the twenty twenty three general elections stressing that there are room for improvement.

Barrister Tanko Beji added that the PDP in Niger state will be expecting its presidential candidate Alh Atiku Abubakar on the nineteenth of this month in Minna.
