Kebbi Gov’t Donates 50M To Flood Victims In Jigawa State

Kebbi state Government has donated fifty million naira to support victims of flood disaster in Jigawa state.

Governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu stated this when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Badaru Abubakar at government house Dutse, the Jigawa state capital.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, said he was touched with the number of people who lost their lives and property worth millions of naira destroyed as a result of flooding in Jigawa state.

He therefore prayed for Almighty Allah to protect future occurrence of such disaster and give farmers a quick recovery of their losses.

“The achievements of the Badaru-led administration, especially in the area of agriculture have transformed the economy of the state and also the country especially looking at his contribution as chairman of the presidential committees he led in the last few years”.

Responding, Governor Badaru Abubakar expressed gratitude to Governor Bagudu for his untiring support to the state especially in the area of agriculture.

He pledged to ensure judicious disbursement of the donation to the flood victims.

“We can not thank you enough. The progressive governors are expected to meet with the president to discuss lasting solutions to the flood and how best we can assist the victims

“We have met with experts from the Netherlands and they are coming to the Jigawa state next week to profer a lasting solution to the incessant flood. You know we don’t commit our funds until we are sure of the investment which is why it takes time to respond.”

Radio Nigeria reports that Governor  Badaru and his Kebbi state counterpart paid a sympathy visit to the Emir of Dutse, Dr Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi in his palace.
