Algeria, Morocco Set To Out Bid Nigeria For 2025 AFCON Hosting Right

North African football giants, Algeria and Morocco are set to present bids to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Sunday that it has withdrawn the hosting right of the competition from Guinea.

The decision is due to the country’s lack of quality infrastructure and facilities to host the 24-team competition.

While Former NFF President Amaju Melvin Pinnick, recently stated that Nigeria and neighbours, Benin Republic were willing to stage the continent’s biggest football event.

But Algeria football federation President Zefizef Djahid in a statement said “Algeria has all the capabilities to host the 2025 African Cup of Nations”.

Meanwhile, Morocco are also expected to present their bid to host the competition in the coming days.
