Former Minister of Youth and Sport and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi has called for the promotion of education that will enable Youths leverage on the nation’s investment in digital economy.
Mallam Abdullahi made the call while speaking at a programme organised by the Correspondents’ Chapel of NUJ, Kwara state Council for Senatorial candidates from various political parties for Kwara Central, Tagged the Grate Debate in Ilorin.
He said the Youths today were born with digital knowledge that needs a little push to make them excel.
According to him, the federal government has invested a lot in digital economy, adding that the Youths are not benefiting from the project.
Mallam Abdullahi said the right investment in the youths would enable them use the opportunities in digital economy to move the state and the country forward.
In his submission the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Kwara Central Senatorial Candidates, Dr. Ridwan Apaokagi said the Youths as well as the general populace should be encouraged to venture into agriculture to make food available and affordable.
In his remark the Labour Party (LP) Kwara Central Senatorial Candidates, Comrade Farouk Akanbi said the Youths should be empowered through vocational skills to make them self reliant.
