4 Football Players From Niger Proceed to Europe for Medical

Four football academy players from Niger state are going for their medicals and subsequent signing with a Romania second divisiion professional football club the Dacia Unirea Eraila that is playing in the Romanian league.

The four players were hand picked by management of the club through a foreign scout and a FIFA licenced agent from Italy Mr Mario Cavani who requested for their videos and was sent to him.

Chairman Lapai Football Academy Mr Umar Batako Lapai announced this when they visited the Niger state Commissioner of Sports and Youth Development Malam Mamman Musa in Minna.

Mr Umar Lapai explained that the foreign scout has come with their pre contracts therefore the players are going to Romania for their medicals and subsequent signing of aggreement to play in the league.

According to him he set up the Lapai Football Academy to discourage youths from engaging in social vices through sport development in addition to fishing out young talents to be exposed abroad.

Commissioner of Sports and Youth Development Malam Mamman Musa who assured them of support at all times to succeed however said plans are on top gear  to bring back Niger Tornadoes football club to play their home matches at the Bako Kontagora memorial stadium in Minna while the mini stadium at Ahmadu Bahago roundabout is to be completed before the end of this administration.

In his remarks the FIFA licenced agent and foreign scout Mr Mario Cavani promised to look for sponsorship for Niger state government from Europe as well as to link Niger state government with the Italian authority for mutual benefits.

Also speaking the National Coach Mini Soccer Association of Nigeria Mr Fabian Idaba commended Mr Umar Lapai for his contributions to the development of sports especially  soccer at grassroot level and called on well meaning Nigerians to contribute their quota to achieve maximum results.

They will be organising a football competition in Minna for the next three days.
