NDLEA Partners Stakeholders On Fight Against Illicit Drugs In Kaduna

In a bid to contain drug trafficking in Kaduna State, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency-NDLEA has paid an advocacy visit to Gonin gora community along Kaduna-Abuja highway in Chikun LGA.

At the palaces of village head of Anguwan Makeri and District head of Gonin gora, Commander of the Agency in the State, Mr Umar Isah Adoro said the visit was necessitated to obtain first hand information because the grassroot is most affected by the menace.

He noted that the visit was imperative owing to the strategic location of the highway to the State.

Mr Umar Isah Adoro explained that the NDLEA relies on relevant stakeholders in the conduct of its operations.

He maintained that the Agency also embarked on awareness and sensitization campaigns to various places on the dangers of illicit substances.

The Commander disclosed that between January and August this year, the Agency arrested ten tons of illicit substances in the State.

Mr Adoro appealed to all stakeholders to continue to co-operate with the Agency by providing accurate and timely information on the activities of drug pushers, so as to stem the tide.

In their separate remarks, Village head of Anguwan Makeri as well as District head of Gonin gora, Mr Yohanna Musa Makeri and Mr John Yusuf Sarki commended the NDLEA for the visit describing it as timely.

They also pledged their willingness to support and co-operate with the Agency in the fight against drug abuse.
