NASS Commission Prioritizes Retraining Of Staff To Meet Standards

House of Representatives is to prioritize retraining of staff to enable them to meet international standards in Legislative processes.

Executive Chairman House of Representatives Commission, Alhaji Ahmed Amshi, announced this while declaring opened a three-day Capacity building training for staff of the House in Abuja.

Alhaji Ahmed Amshi, explained that the Commission would continue to initiate programmes that would improve legislative processes, productivity, and national development.

Represented by Commissioner North East Malam Abubakar Tutari, the Executive Chairman advised the participating staff to reciprocate the gesture by making judicious use of the training to acquire more skills and experience.

In a remark, Clerk to the House of Representatives Dr. Yahaya DanZaria stressed that the house resolved to use training as the major source of attaining optimal performance and productivity among its staff.

He expressed optimism that the training workshop would strengthen the capacity of their staff to be in tune with legislative procedures and become up to date with international best practices in legislative matters.

Some of the participants interviewed described the training as timely as it would no doubt help them in supporting legislators in law-making processes.
