Jigawa Pension Board Pays Over N783M Terminal Benefits

Jigawa state and local governments contributory pension scheme board says it has paid over 783 Million naira as terminal benefit to 375 retired civil servants in the state.

The Executive Secretary of the scheme, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa, made this known at a press conference in his office.

According to him, the amount was the terminal pension for those who retired from service from July to September, 2022.

He further explained that, the amount being paid will cover the retirement benefit, death pension and death pension balance.

He said over N583,598,012.35 was paid to  retirees who retired from State service, local government councils as well as in local government education authorities.

He said the families of thirty two deceased employees from the state civil service, twenty five persons from the LGC and fifteen persons from the LGEA received over 181 million naira.

Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa said a total of those on death pension balance are twenty three in number and were given over eighteen million naira.

He said the board and the state government will continue to ensure the welfare of its workers, for better service delivery and the well-being of retirees after service.

He pointed out that,  Jigawa State is up-to-date in the payment of entitlements to retirees which includes those who died in active service.

The Pension Boss therefore, commended Governor Badaru Abubukar for his untiring support and cooperation to the scheme.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria commended the state government for the gesture.
