Tactical Operatives of Zamfara State Police Command have intercepted a notorious Bandit and a member of vehicle smashing syndicate.
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the Command SP Shehu Mohammed who paraded the suspects said, the Bandit, Isiyaku Babangida ‘M’ aged 32 was arrested after a gun duel between police and gang of a notorious Bandits Kingpin Alhaji Bello who attempted to attack some communities in the state.
He explained that, the tactical Operatives acted on intelligence information about an attempt by the gang to invade and attack some communities in Anka and Bukkuyum Local Government Areas and promptly moved to the bandits enclaves and engaged them to a serious gun battle which due to superior fighting power, the Bandits withdrew and escaped with gun wounds.
SP Shehu noted that, Two AK-47 rifles, two local fabricated guns and 236 rounds of 2.76mm live ammunitions as well as Charms were recorvered.
The PPRO said, the member of vehicle smashing syndicate, Usman Umar ‘m’ aged 39 of Tudun wada Gusau, was arrested after receiving a complain from a staff of Zamfara State Government on the 23rd August, 2022 that, his car’s windscreen was broken and Three Million, four hundred and seventy three thousand and a computer laptop were stolen from the car, saying police in collaboration with the state government situation control room in government house, the suspect was tracked and arrested and he confessed to commiting the crime which according to him, he perpetrated same crime in Borno, Bauchi, Kebbi and Sokoto States respectively.
The Police urged members of the public to be security conscious while making transactions in Banks and urged them to support the police and other security agencies with vital information to rid the state of criminal activities.
