Ms. Idayat Hassan, the Country Director for the Center for Democracy and Development CDD, stated that the purpose of the meeting was to critically examine the nature of conflicts that exist in the country as well as the role that stakeholders can play in the prevention of conflicts.

The event brought together security professionals, election officials, and Civil Society Organizations.

On February 25, 2023, voters will head to the polls to choose a president and vice president.

There will also be elections for the House of Representatives and the Senate. State elections will take place two weeks later, on March 11.

The winners of the election will have their inauguration on May 29th, 2023, which was formerly known as Democracy Day.
