NSCDC Intercepts Truck Loaded With Defunct NITEL Mast in Niger

Niger state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp NSCDC has intercepted a truck fully loaded with scraps believed to be defunct NITEL mast and other items suspected to have been vandalised.

Commandant of the Corp Alh Ahmed Mohammed Dandare stated this while parading some suspects before Newsmen  at the command office in Minna Niger state.

Commandant Ahmed Mohammed Dandare who spoke through the Civil Defence Public Relations Officer DSC Nasir Abdullahi reaffirmed the determination of Commandant General of NSCDC Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi and their members in protecting critical national assets and infrastructure across Nigeria.

Alh Ahmed Mohammed Dandare said  a truck with registration number NAS 410  XA was intercepted by Niger state command anti vandal squad on routine patrol on Abuja Kaduna express way following a tip off.

According to him one Gali Abdullahi aged fifty five and native of Gezawa local government council of Kano state and the truck driver were arrested alongside the truck on his way to Kano from Abuja.

Commandant Ahmed Mohammed Dandare explained that after preliminary investigation the suspect admitted to have commissioned a mast belonging to the defunct NITEL at Asokoro area of Federal Capital Territory Abuja saying that it was his master one AA Kadir a Kano based business man who claimed to have genuinely bought the mask from a company through their agent named Tirmizi.

Investigation is still ongoing to ascertain their claims after which they will be charged to court,

Meanwhile the command had recently  clamped down on pipeline vandals at Zazzaga village of Munya local government council of Niger state where about forty five jerricans of twenty five litres each filled with PMS were recovered from the point where it was vandalised.

Commandant Ahmed Mohammed Dandare however appealed to Nigerlites to report any act of vandalisation to  the NSCDC or to the nearest security outpost for prompt action.
