CP Ayuba Elkana delivering his speech

Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Police Command, CP Ayuba Elkana has retired from Nigeria Police Force after 32 years in Service.

The CP who revealed this during Pullout Parade and get together party organized by the Command in his honour, said he retired successfully with honour and dignity.

Ayuba Elkana who was accompanied by his wife, Dr Felina Ayuba Elkana during the event expressed appreciation to the government and people of the state for cordial working relationship and called on other officers still in service to give much sacrifice and commitment as well as to exhibit professionalism in the discharge of their duties to gain respect and acceptance of host communities.

“In these contemporary periods, policing has changed and it is still changing, because it is not about arresting, investigation or prosecution alone, but you also have responsibility to ensure stable democracy for good governance, creating an enabling environment and providing acceptable basic service delivery for the citizens” the CP advocated.

The retired CP therefore thanked all Officers and Men of the Command especially Area Commanders, DPOs, two squadron commanders and other tactical units head for support and corporation during his regime.

He urged them to sustain the established working synergy with government and people of the state as well as other security agencies.

On his part, Zamfara State Governor, Bello Muhammad Matawalle who was represented by his deputy, Hassan Muhammad Nasiha congratulated the CP for successful retirement and prayed for success in his future endeavors.

“We the people and government of Zamfara State have enjoyed your stay with us as Police commissioner and at this point, we have publicly admitted that we missed a very strong pillar who contributed immensely to addressing the major security challenges affecting the State” he declared.

In a remark, Emir of Kaura Namoda who spoke on behalf of the state council of chiefs congratulated CP Elkana for his breakthrough in Zamfara and pledged to continue their relationship with him even after the retirement.
