Mutual Understanding, Peace Key To Credible Election – Emir

Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has reaffirmed Kano emirate’s readiness to work assidiously in ensuring peaceful and credible elections in the country.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero stated this, during the official unveiling and dissemination of Kano citizen’s charters of demand for engagements of candidates in 2023 election, held in kano.

The Emir who was represented by Falakin Kano, Alhaji Shehu Dankadai, said Kano emirate council was committed to ensuring free and fair elections.

He described education, health and women development as the focal point of the Emirate.

He called on government to increase budgetary allocation to health, education and women affairs in addition to reviewing salaries and allowances of teachers and health workers to reduce education and health tourism.

In their seperate remarks, representatives of Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Bichi and Karaye, called for commitment by candidates on pre and post engagement plans of the charter titled ‘hasken Kano project’ to enhance citizens influence in governance.

Speaking earlier, the team leader partnership to Engage Reform and Learn, Malam Isah Surajo, explained that, the objective of the session is to unveil citizen’s charters of demand for agenda setting engagements with candidates in 2023 election.

He said the charter would go a long way in promoting and setting agenda based on citizens needs and aspirations.

The official unveiling of ‘hasken kano’ witnessed large turn out of development partners, political parties, religious and traditional institutions, people living with disabilities among others.
