Hajj 2022: Last Flight Of Jigawa Pilgrims Arrive Nigeria

Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has successfully recorded the last flight of 158 pilgrims from Jeddah International Airport, to Nigeria after concluding the 2022 hajj exercise.

The Director Oprations of the board Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo stated this shortly after the arrival of the last batch from Saudi Arabia to Aminu Kano International Airport.

He said, the state pilgrims were airlifted by Max Air from the holy land and landed at Maiduguri International airport at 7:51am.

According to him, second and the last flight take-off on Thursday morning in Jeddah with a total number of ‎158 pilgrims, Including some committee members of the state house of assembly on hajj, medical personnel and some officials of the board as well as FRCN Kaduna Correspondent in Jigawa, Usman Muhammed Zaria.

He added that the last batch of the pilgrims were airlifted together with Borno, Plateau and Bauchi states pilgrims from Jeddah International airport to Nigeria.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo pointed out that the state had recorded a successful and hitch-free hajj exercise.

Also in an interview, the Acting Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Mustapha Umar Babura commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for the support and cooperation given to the board during this year’s hajj operations.

Some of the pilgrims who spoke to Radio Nigeria shortly after their arrival in Kano thanked Allah for making it possible for them to perform this year’s hajj exercise.

They expressed displeasure over Max Air for landing in kano after taking off from Maiduguri instead of Dutse International Airport in Jigawa state.

They commended the management of the Jigawa state pilgrims welfare board for providing free buses to transport them to Dutse.

The pilgrims also expressed satisfaction by the arrangements of preachers and commended officials of the board for taking good care of them while at the holy land.

Radio Nigeria reports that, the pilgrims arrived in good health and with all their luggages.
