Gov Badaru Gifts Jigawa Pilgrims 100 Riyals Each In Mecca

Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa has given the state pilgrims 100 riyals each as a Sallah gift.

Alhaji Badaru Abubakar also appreciated the prayers engaged by the pilgrims for peace, unity, progress and economic prosperity of Nigeria while in Saudi Arabia.

The Governor stated this during a visit to the pilgrims at Hajrul Makkah Hotel, in Saudi Arabia.

According to him, “I’m aware of the prayers engaged by the state pilgrims for the security challenges and economic prosperity of Nigeria”.

Alhaji Badaru Abubakar commended the management and entire officials of the state pilgrims welfare board for rendering necessary services to the pilgrims.

“I’m also receiving up-to-date reports on transparent activities of the officials of the jigawa state pilgrims welfare board,” he said.

The Governor used the opportunity to apologise once more, to the remaining 53 state pilgrims who were scheduled to be airlifted from kano to Saudi Arabia for this year’s hajj exercise but could not.

I had to direct for the evacuation of the pilgrims by a domestic flight for onward airlift of the Pilgrims to Jeddah airport from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, he explained.

Alhaji Badaru Abubakar also commended the medical as well as the preacher’s team for their support and cooperation while urging the pilgrims to continue to adhere to the laid down rules of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He said preparations were in progress to transport the pilgrims to Madina.

Some of the pilgrims who spoke to Radio Nigeria expressed happiness for the visit by the state Governor and see the airlift of the remaining pilgrims to the holy land.

They also commended the state Government for securing a befitting accommodation to them at the holy land.
