Ram Sellers Lament Over Low Patronage In Kano

Ram sellers in kano State have expressed dissatisfaction with the low turn out of eligible buyers this year.

Reports indicate that, animal markets are still scanty due to lack of customers to purchase cows, camels and Rams for Eid ul adha sacrifice.

Speaking to Radio Nigeria, the chairman Gandun Albasa Rams market, Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed explained that the price of rams starting from twenty five to thirty thousand and above is considered affordable to low-income earners

Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed, attributed the increase in the price of animals in 2022 to high cost of animal feeds.

He charged the general public to disregard rumours circulating that Rams are untouchable this year, saying that you can get a Ram for as low as twenty five thousand to thirty thousand naira.

Some of the sellers in the market, Umar Nasir and Mukhtar Musa described the situation as worrisome, saying most people are yet to receive their monthly salaries in the state.

They called on the government to expedite action to ensure hitch free Eid il kabir celebrations.

A buyer Muhammad Nura decried over the economic situation in the courtry, noting that Rams are cheap compared to last year but lack of money would hinder most family heads from purchasing animals for the sacrifice.

He charged government and all relevant stakeholders to map out policies and programs aimed at uplifting the standard of living among citizens.
