The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria MDCN, a professional health regulatory agency for the professions of medicine, dentistry and alternative medicine in Nigeria, has given accreditation to the Pre-Clinical program of the college of medicine and allied health sciences, Federal University Dutse in Jigawa state.
The Registrar, Dr Tajuddeen Adisa Sanusi who conveyed the Council decision to the Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed, congratulated the university on the positive accreditation result.
Dr Sanusi said the council was satisfied with the report of the accreditation visitation panel of December 2021 and that of the 27th of May 2022.
The Vice-Chancellor who expressed gratitude to Allah over the result of the MDCN accreditation exercise thanked the management , staff and students for their cooperation and support throughout the accreditation period especially the Provost of the College, Professor Muhammad Sani Mijinyawa and the Director of Academic Planning, Dr Sanusi Chinade.
He said the positive accreditation result was a challenge to the university to double its efforts in ensuring standard and excellence in its medical program.
Professor Abdulkarim also commended the accreditation team for a job well done.
It would be recalled that the National Universities Commission also gave Medicine & Surgery & 18 other programs of the university full accreditation in April 2022.
