Over 8000 Kaduna School Girls To Receive Financial Intervention

Over 8,000 poor and less privileged adolescent School Girls in Kaduna State are to benefit from a Conditional cash transfer program implemented by the Kaduna Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment AGILE, aimed at retaining the Girl Child in school and enhance their academic performance.

State coordinator of the Project, Mrs. Mariyam Sani Dangaji announced this at the Inauguration of Environmental Friendly program known as ECO Clubs for 10 different Schools in the State.

She explained that the amount to be distributed through the Caregivers of the students, ranges from Five Thousand Naira to Ten Thousand Naira depending on their poverty and school transition levels and will be given to them either at the beginning or end of school term.

Mrs. Mariyam Sani Dangaji stated that the AGILE Project is also implementing the ECO Clubs in some of the selected schools to inculcate the habit of tree planting, hygiene and environmental friendly attitudes on the girls against the dangers of Climate Change.

Inaugurating the ECO Clubs the state commissioner for Budget and Planning Commission, Hajiya Umma Yusuf Aboki said the state government was committed to improving standard of education and better environment through budgetary provisions.

According to her, the AGILE Project has been very supportive to the government through it’s various program components of Social Environmental Management plan, Conditional cash transfers, Building and Renovation of Schools.

She urged the students to be committed to studies and keep a healthy environment for a better, wealthy and Healthy future.

The ECO Club program was inaugurated for selected schools in Kaduna South, Kaduna North, Igabi, and Chikun Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

All relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies including selected Students attended the event.
