Hajj 2022: 651 Taraba Intending Pilgrims Set To Depart For Saudi Arabia

No fewer than six hundred and fifty-one intending pilgrims from Taraba State are set to depart for Saudi Arabia to perform the 2022 Hajj exercise to fulfill one of the five pillars of Islam.

The Public Relations Officer of the Taraba State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Hamza Banban Muri made this known to our Correspondent in Jalingo

He said initially, about seven hundred people registered for this year’s exercise but due to the age barrier, pregnancy, and other health-related issues, the number reduced to 651.

According to him, five hundred and fifty-one (551) intending pilgrims are self-sponsored, while one hundred (100) are sponsored by the Taraba State Government.

Alhaji Hamza Banban Muri also revealed that the intending pilgrims from the state are expected to leave Jalingo on Friday 24th June 2022 to Yola, Adamawa State where they will depart for Saudi Arabia hopefully on the evening of the same day.

He informed that the Deputy Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hamman Adama Muhammed was appointed as the 2022 Amirul Hajj by Governor Darius Ishaku.
