FG Trains 40,000 Youths In Vocational Skills

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has trained 40,000 non-graduate youths across the country on various technical and vocational skills under the N-Build Programme.

At the closing ceremony of the N-Build batch C1 In-Centre Training in Abuja, the Minister, Hajiya Sadiya Umar-Farouq said the objective of the training was to economically advance the living standard of unemployed Nigerians.

Hajiya Sadiya, who said the programme was equally designed to build their competence and capacity, urged the participants to take advantage of the skills acquired to enable them excel in their respective trades.

“Having completed the in-centre training, you will be attached directly to relevant institutions for your Six month apprenticeship, during which your performances will be assessed and examined by Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria, National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) and Institute of Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN), respectively,” she told them.

The youths were trained in various fields including Automobile, Electrical Installation, Agric Technology, Carpentry & Joinery, as well as Hospitality.
