Taraba Polytechnic Suntai Matriculates Over 2000 Students

Taraba State Polytechnic Suntai has matriculated 2,409 students from various courses and programs.

The 2021/2022 matriculation ceremony of Certificate and Diploma students that took place on Saturday at the institution in the Bali local government area of the state was peaceful.

Dr. Ayuba Abarshi, Rector of the Polytechnic appealed to the state government to release funds budgeted in 2022 for the accreditation of courses to the institution.

He disclosed that the issue of accreditation had been captured in the 2022 fiscal year, but is yet to be released to the institution.

Dr. Ayuba Albarshi commended the state government for sponsorship of interim accreditation of five academic programs.

The Rector also thanked the state government for the regular payment of staff salaries, the inauguration of the governing council, and repairs of blown-off roofs by windstorms.

Abarshi, however, appreciated the government for the replacement of staff who either passed on or left as well as for capturing the financial implications of accreditation of the polytechnic programs in the 2022 budget.

The Rector, on the other hand, requested the government to renovate the hostels in the Suntai campus as well as the provision vehicles to members of the Governing Council.

He further solicited the repairs and handing over of the hostels unoccupied in Suntai Campus and the allocation of the portion of land close to the stream behind the Jalingo campus to the Polytechnic and encouraged members of staff of the institution to work harder to groom students morally and academically.

Dr. Ayuba Abarshi assured members of staff of enhanced welfare and a better working environment to ensure high productivity and urged them to impress the state government by giving the required attention to the Polytechnic.

In a remark, Mrs. Lydia Ambituni, Chairperson of the Governing Council thanked the Polytechnic management for enhanced productivity.

Ambituni gave assurance that the present administration under Governor Darius Ishaku would do all it could to make the Polytechnic an enviable citadel of learning and urged newly matriculated students to operate in line with the code of discipline of the institution.
