Pray For Peaceful Transition In 2023, Gov Bala Tasks Religious Leaders

Governor Bala Muhammad of Bauchi state has appealed to religious leaders in the state and the country at large, to intensify Prayers for peace, particularly as the nation heads towards the 2023 general elections.

He made the appeal during a special prayers session for peace and sustainable development, organised by the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board at Sa’ad Abubakar Hajj camp in Bauchi.

Bala Muhammad explained that peace is paramount as the 2023 general election was fast approaching and stressed the need to intensify prayers for a peaceful transition.

He reminded the clerics of the various challenges bedevilling the state and the country, particular insecurity and socio-economic problems among others and appealed to the clerics to pray for the emergence of competent leaders at all levels during the forthcoming elections.

The governor who commended the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for organizing the prayer session pledged a government commitment to continue to protect the lives and property of citizens.

In a speech, the Executive Chairman, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris informed the governor that the aim of the prayer session was for the religious leaders to interface with a view to finding solution to the challenge facing the country.

While offering his prayers, the Chief Imam of Bauchi Centrak Mosque, Sheik Bala Ahmad Baban Inna prayed for peace and tranquility in the state and the whole country.

The special prayers were offered by several Imams including the Deputy Chief Imam of Katagum, Chief Imam of Misau among others
