Hajj 2022: Jigawa Pilgrims Welfare Board To Go Digital – Official

Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has distributed computers, printers, cameras and other required electronic gadgets to zonal offices across the five emirates of the state, as part of its determination to shift to digital operation.

The Director Operations of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo disclosed this to Radio Nigeria at the board headquarters in Dutse, the state capital.

He pointed out that, the digital operation will enhance accuracy effectiveness, prudence and simplify the operation to meet up with Saudi Arabia operational standard.

He said, the gadgets given to the zonal officers will enhance and boost the capability of the staff. 

According to him, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON has directed intending pilgrims that those that have an account with Jaiz bank should also be considered for the 2022 hajj exercise.

Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo further explained that, over 530 intending pilgrims made their payments to the board which has to be cleared first before considering others for the 2022 hajj exercise.

He expressed the board’s gratitude to the state intending pilgrims for their understanding, steadfastness and the trust they reposed on them by leaving their Hajj fare with the state since 2020.

Ahmed Umar Labbo pointed out that, some of the efforts being put in place towards ensuring a befitting hajj operation include  engaging a reputable and internationally recognized airline to airlift the Jigawa state intending pilgrims to and from Madina and Makkah within a short possible period of time.

The Director noted that, others also include ensuring that, the intending pilgrims are accommodated in standard hotels closer to the Haram both in Makkah and Madina as well as provision of sumptuous meals, transportation and camping.

According to him, the board had organised a train-the-trainer workshop for facilitators to train the state intending pilgrims for the 2022 hajj exercise.

Labbo therefore, enjoined all the state coordinators to be ready as preparation with the usual enlightenment and education programmes to all intending pilgrims of in their respective local government areas will begin soon.

He appreciated the support and existing cordial working relationship between the management of the board and the coordinators, while praying for a sustainable partnership in the interest of all and development of the state.
