Kwara State Approves Over N1Bn Road Construction Contracts

Kwara State government has awarded the construction of the Ile-Ire District Road in Ifelodun local government area of the state to ease the transportation of farm produce to the urban area.

The state Commisssioner for works ,Mr Suleiman Iliasu stated this while speaking with Newsmen in Ilorin.

According to him the road, which begins at Owode Ofaro, links the district in Ifelodun to Isin local government area of the state.

He said the state government has also awarded the upgrade of the Old Yidi Road and AbdulAzeez Attah Road to engineering standard with adequate drainage and pedestrian walkways.

Mr Iliasu explained that the proposed construction of the roads is in line with the desire of the administration to improve infrastructural facilities as well as the socioeconomic well-being of the people of the state.

He maintained that the construction of surface dressing of the Ile Ire District Road will cost N851,843,913.22 and it will be completed within four months , while the upgrade of the AbdulAzeez Attah road was awarded at the cost of N580,438,832.87 with a completion period of four months.

The Commisssioner noted that the Old Yidi Road upgrade was awarded at the contract sum of N263,707,171.56 with a completion period of three months.
