Gov Matawalle Pledges Continuous Support To Qur’anic Recitation Competitions

Zamfara state government says it will continue to support reading, memorization, and organizing of Qur’anic recitation competitions within and outside the state.

Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle gave the assurance in Gusau while declaring open the 25th state Qur’anic recitation competition at UBE Training Center.

Represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House Gusau, Dr. Ibrahim Suleiman charges the participants to concentrate fully on what they are assigned to do and exhibits good behaviors worthy of emulation.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Committee for Qur’anic Recitation Competition, Alhaji Ibrahim Ruwan Dorowa also represented by his Deputy Yusuf Abdullahi Mafara, said measures were taken during the selection of the participants.

He commended the effort of governor Bello Matawalle towards financial and logistics support being given to the committee in order to achieve its mandate and called on well-meaning Nigerians and organizations to invest in this giant project.

Ruwan Dorowa also commended the effort of the committee members for the successful conduct of the competition at the local government level as well as the participants for their obedience and endurance shown during the exercise.

In a remark, the royal father of the day and Chairman, Council of Chiefs, Emir of Anka Alhaji Attahiru Ahamad represented by Alhaji Mahammad Kogo Abubakar urged parents to inculcate moral behaviors in their children towards becoming useful members of the societies.

He called for frequent prayers for peace and stability to prevail in Zamfara state and the country at large.

Radio Nigeria reports that three hundred and seventeen participants were drowned in fourteen local government areas of the state with a view to computes and select those who will represent the state at the national level.

It could be recalled that the international level competition did not hold last year due to the covid 19 pandemic.
