The General Hospital Kontagora in Niger state has recorded eighty five deliveries fourteen Neonatal and four maternal death in December last year.

Chief Medical Director Dr Mohammed Baba Wasagi said this while recieving the presentation of one baby incubator and a stainless cots by a Non Governmental Organisation Sani Bello Foundation to the hospital in Kontagora.

Dr Mohammed Wasagi explained that the hospital had thirty seven spontenous viginal delivery fourty eight caesarean sections in which one of the deliveries he said was a premature,

He however expressed dismay that majority of people in Kontagora still prefer recieving treatment at home instead of going to the hospital.

According to him they only go to the hospital when the situation becomes critical.

Making the presentation Director General Sani Bello Foundation Dr Zakari Ikani said the child incubator is donated to meet the needs of people in Kontagora and its neiggbouring local governments as well as that premature babies get adequate care.

Dr Zakari Ikana further explained that during there last outreach in Kontagora they duscovered that they lack incubator and therefore decided to purchase it to save the lives of more babies.

Matron of Maternity Ward Kontagora General Hospital Mrs Victoria Emmanuel also re echored over inability of people in Kontagora to access healthcare and called for a change of attitude to succeed.
