Road Accident Claims Lives, 3-Year-Old Drowns In Kano

A ghastly road accident involving two vehicles at Gamoji Town, in Gaya Local Government Area of Kano state has claimed five lives and injured seventeen people.

Reports indicate that overspeeding was the major cause of the head-on collision between a Sharon and hummer bus which affected 22 people.

Narrating the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi pointed out that, combined efforts of firefighters and police officers led to the rescue of passengers as the Sharon bus was engulfed by fire.

He said five people were confirmed dead by health officials while 17, currently receiving medical attention at Gaya specialist hospital.

Saminu maintained that those who lost their lives include, Bello Muhammad, Musa Abdulqadir, Abdulaziz Bello, Halifa Muhammad, and Musa Muntari.

In a similar development, a three-year-old boy, Aliyu Lawan lost his life after drowning in a well at Dan mako town in Dambatta local government area.

A rescue team from the Dambatta Fire Service Station evacuated the body and handed him over to his father Malam Lawan.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano fire service Saminu Yusif Abdullahi urged the public to be more vigilant and construct wells with strong covers and adequate barricades to avoid disasters.
