KNSG Revokes Licenses Of Private Schools

The Kano State Government says it has revoked licenses of all private schools operating in the State.

The Commissioner for Education Alhaji Mohammad Sanusi Kiru stated this while briefing journalists in his office.

He said following the unfortunate incident where a proprietor kidnapped and killed a five student of his school, government will not allow such tragic incident to happen again in the state.

Alhaji Mohammad Sanusi Kiru explained that the issue of rape is becoming so rampant in private schools across the state, hence the need for serious measures to be put in place including n ensuring thorough screening of private schools in Kano state.

The Commissioner maintained that a committee would be set by the government that would screen all private schools, stressing that any school that does not pass the revalidation exercise will be closed.

He condoled the immediate family of late Hanifa and the entire people of Kano State over the sad incident that led to her death.
