Capital City University Inaugurates Emir Of Zazzau As Chancellor

His Royal Highness the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli has reaffirmed commitment to the provision of accessible and qualitative education affordably to the Nigerian youths.

Alhaji Ahmed disclosed this during the occasion of his investiture as the Chancellor and inauguration of the governing council of Capital City University, in kano.

According to the Emir, affordable and quality education will go a long way in curtailing poverty, drug abuse, intolerance among other problems bedevilling the country.

He described the failure to coordinate and give education priority to a larger segment of society as a major catalyst hindering development.

Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli commended promoters of the university for a clear mission and vision in addition to tireless efforts in turning the institution into a reality.

“One of the reasons that motivated me to accept the chancellorship of the capital city university Kano is to participate and contribute my quota in providing accessible and quality education”

In a remark, governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said the state government had mapped out policies and programs aimed at uplifting the standard of education.

Represented by his deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna urged philanthropists and wealthy individuals to set up similar institutions toward promoting educational standards.

Earlier, in a welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Sadik Zubair Abubakar explained that the institution was geared towards producing a generation of future leaders with entrepreneurial skills suitable for job creation and problem-solving.

He said the university’s statutory and administrative organs have been carefully composed with eminent and qualified personalities with relevant experiences necessary for effective and efficient delivery of its mandates.

The proposed university shall combine core academic teaching with civic studies, as well as entrepreneurial skills students to imbibe hard work”

The occasion attracted the Emirs of Bichi, Lere, Jema’a, academicians, top government functionaries, journalists among others.
