Kano State Hisbah Board has debunked rumours circulating that it’s personnel attacked some youths at a bar which led to the death of one person at Sabon Gari in Fagge local government area of the state.

Speaking to newsmen, Commander General of the Board, Dr. Haruna Muhammad Sani Ibn Sina explained that, the personnel were at Sabon Gari following a tip off by some good Samaritans that, under age children were engaged in using and selling of intoxicants.

He said, premilinary investigations discovered that over two hundred youths were engaged in the illicit act and were sleeping in make shift tents and soccer viewing centers.

Sheikh Ibn Sina said on arrival, the personnel discovered a large consignment of beer and other intoxicants in the bar and tents used for other illicit acts.

The Commander General explained that, some of the irate youths attacked Hisbah personnel and vandalised their vehicles thereby injuring four officers while trying to confisicate the intoxicants in their possession.

” We are yet to recieve any report that someone lost his life. The agency only arrested one woman and so far the police had apprehended over 20 people over the incident”.

He noted that, about two hours after concluding the operation, the agency received a report that some unpatriotic Nigerians have set up bonfires to protest the arrest of the bar owner.
