NDE Trains School Leavers In Zamfara State

National Directorate of Employment, NDE, has trained 280 school leavers in Zamfara on marketable Vocational Skills to become self employed.

In his speech, the State Coordinator of the NDE, Malam Abdullahi Yakubu said 20 trainees were drawn from each of the 14 Local Government Areas of the state to participate in the Basic National Open Apprenticeship Scheme (B-NOAS) while other 84 graduates, 6 from each LGA will participated in the Advance National Apprenticeship Scheme, A-NOAS.

Malam Abdullahi noted that, 15, 480 school leavers were trained under B-NOAS and 4, 644 were trained on A-NOAS nationwide.

According to him, both of them will undergo 3 months training with a monthly stipend of 2,000.

Similarly, the State Coordinator revealed that, other 404 trainees were drawn from the 14 LGA to be trained on Tailoring, Knitting, Confectionery, GSM Repairs, Barbing, Computer Appreciation, interior Decoration, Hair-Dressing, Beauty Therapy, Beads Stringing, Cosmology, Throw Pillows among others and will be given N2000 as monthly stipend within the period of the training under its new program “Quick-Fix”

Abdullahi Yakubu who urged the participants to pay more attention to the training, said NDE was designed to reduce the level of unemployment across the country.
