The welfare of Civil Servants in Niger state will continue to recieve the desired attention it deserved.
Governor Alh Abubakar Sani Bello said this at the opening of a round table discussion on Social Protection Cover organised by the Niger state chapter of Nigeria Labour Congress NLC in Minna.
Represented by his Deputy Ahmed Mohd Ketso the Governor explained that nọ meaningful development could take place in a Civil Service that is not motivated developed and reinforced in conformity with realities of twenty first century professionalism and work ethics.
Alh Abubakar Sani Bello however maintained thats the essence of labour leadership is the persuance of welfare and development of members therefore caled for a critical look at issue of social protection to deal with emerging trends.
Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Niger state chapter Comrade Yakubu Garba reaffirmed the determination of the Congress in redoubling efforts at enhancing and improving the efficiency and Productivity of Civil Servants in the state.
Comrade Yakubu Garba however expressed shock over the colosal dysfunction of the entire policies of Niger state govẹrnment social protection systen such as pension housing and health insurance.
Delvering paper titled review of social protection cover and implementation A look at Pension scheme in Niger state Director General Pension Board Malam Usman Tinau Mohammed advocated for timely remittance of contributions of the employee to Pension Board to enable it transmit same to relevant bodies for maximum benefits.
Chairman House Of Assembly committee on Labour and Productivity Abdulmalik Madaki Bosso said modalities are being worked out by member of Niger State House Of Assembly to ensure smooth payment of monthly pension.
