KNHA Receives Proposed LGAs 2022 Budget Draft

Kano state house of assembly has received the final draft of the 44 local government councils budget estimate for the 2022 fiscal year.

Reading the letter during plenary session, the speaker Kano state house of assembly Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari pointed out that the local government estimate for the fiscal year stood at #229,535,321,657.8k.

According to the letter, 32.72% is set aside for personnel cost, 16.95 as over head cost while capital expenditure is tagged at 49.33 percent of the total expenditure.

The speaker said, the ministry for local governments is seeking for consideration and approval of the budget, according to section 69,sub section 1(c) of Kano local government’s law.

The letter explained that, all the 44 local government councils have made adequate provisions in the 2022 fiscal year according to the needs and aspirations of the people in line with government’s policies and programs.

The house sent the letter to the committee on local government’s and chieftancy affairs and that of appropriation to scrutinize and submit report within eight days.

Similarly, the house had received a commendation letter under order 5 rule 5,over the kind gesture and intervention of Kano state government and some prominent people over the unfortunate boat mishap that occured at Badau in Bagwai local government area.

Presenting the letter, member representing Bagwai and Shanono local government areas, Alhaji Ali Ibrahim Isah Shanono said, the entire people of his constituency expressed their satisfaction over the condolence visits and assistance rendered to the families and victims of the boat mishap that claimed the lives of over 40 people.

The house adjourned its sitting to Monday 20th December 2021,in a motion sponsored by the majority leader, Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari.
