Coalition Of Northern Groups gives 28 days ultimatum to Federal Government

The Coalition Of Northern Groups CNG has given the Fẹderal Government twenty eight days ultimatum to rescind its decision of removing subsisdy on petroleum product or face mass action.

This form parts of the decision reached at the end of North Central Stakeholders and All Civil Society meeting organised by Coalition Of Northern Groups held in Minna Niger state.

The Communique which was read by North Central Coordinator Coalition Of Northern Groups and Chairman communique drafting Comrade Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed said they will exhaust all legal means within their powers to ensure that Federal Government does not hands off from providing subsidy on fuel.

Comrade Mohammed Mohammed however says they will also hold President Muhammadu Buhari and nineteen Northern state Governors responsible for the combined effects of widespread threats to security deliberate efforts to deepen Northern economic problems which poses great danger to our region and Nigeria.

It however warns that the planned increase of pump price if allowed would represent the biggest cumulative threat to corporate survival of peace and security of Nigeria since its creation one hundred years ago.

The communique observes that excuses advanced by Federal Government and its cronies in pretext of removal of subsidy and promise of five thousand naira palliative to forty million Nigerians are unfounded and unacceptable.

The Coalition comprising of nineteen Northern states has concluded plans to convey their grievances and position paper to traditional rulers in the region for onward transmission to President Muhammadu Buhari on why removal of fuel subsidy is not the solution now.
