Public Hearing Pivotal To Enhanced Budget Implementation – Speaker

The speaker Kano state house of assembly, Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari has described public hearing as a means of enhancing value and credibility to budget tracking and monitoring.

Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, stated this while declaring open a public hearing on 2022 proposed appropriation bill, organized by the Kano state house of assembly.

The speaker who was represented by the majority leader of the house, Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari said the importance of the public hearing cannot be over emphasized due to the large number of stakeholders engaged to contribute their quota.

The speaker charged participants to desist from deviating from the subject matter to expedite the hearing.

“We assure you that your views will not only be appreciated but will also be considered especially during legislative proceedings”

In his remarks, the chairman house standing committee on appropriation, Alhaji Abba Ibrahim Garko described the 2022 proposed appropriation bill as a friendly oriented budget.

He pointed out that mutual understanding and cooperation is the key to the cordial working relationship between the executive and the legislative arm of government in the state.

Some of the participants who spoke to Radio Nigeria, partnership to engage reform and learn(PERL),Tsakuwa mu Farka, Kano budget working group, human rights and civic education, expressed optimism that the public hearing would pave way for good service delivery.

They urged the Kano state house of assembly to explore more innovative partnership with civil societies on tracking budgetary allocations to expedite implementation that will impact on the lives of the citizens
