Rep. Partners IPCR On Peace Building In Kaduna

Member Representing Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency of Kaduna state Amos Gwamna Magaji

A Member of the House, Representing Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency Amos Gwamna Magaji has partnered the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution to enthrone peaceful coexistence in his constituency.

In a message at the event which took place in Zokwa, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the House Member Amos Gwamna Magaji advocated peaceful resolution of issues irrespective of tribe, creed, or religion.

He said peace was the key to societal development, stressing that without peace; communities would lack basic facilities as resources met for the improvement of people’s wellbeing would be channeled to tackling security problems.  

Chairman of the occasion Mr John Bala Gora charged residents of various communities in Zango Kataf LGA not to take laws into their hands but rather seek ways of resolving their differences amicably.

A representative of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution Adejoh Haruna acknowledged that Zango Kataf has become a hot spot in terms of conflict adding that the workshop was timely as it would empower participants to go back home and become change ambassadors by applying knowledge gained in peacebuilding initiatives.

Also speaking, Chairman of Zango Kataf Local Government Area, Francis Sani Zimbo, represented by his vice Gabriel Achi encouraged participants to preach peace and as well tolerate each other in their respective communities.

Participants at the workshop were drawn from the traditional institutions of Atyap, Bajju, Ikulu, Anghan as well as other representatives from CAN, JNI, the Police, Nigeria Security, and Civil Defense Corps-NSCDC, Nigerian Youth Council- Zango Kataf Chapter, and People living with disabilities amongst others.
