NAWOJ Appeals To Pregnant Women To Take Covid-19 Vaccine

Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Kano state chapter has appealed to pregnant women to make themselves available to be vaccinated against the dreaded Covid-19 virus.

This was contained in a communiqué by the drafting committee chair, Grace Musa at the end of a one day sensitization programme, on Coviod-19 held in collaboration with UNICEF in kano.

“ pregnant women are not at risk when taking COVID-19 vaccines. The vaccines are 100percent effective and research has not shown if it is for a life time, for the research is still ongoing”

“vaccination is the best way to protect the younger generations from the disease for they are more victims of COVID-19, while the elderly ones are more at risk in Kano. The statistics also shows that the metropolitan axis have more cases of covid-19 than the locality”

“statistic show that those at risk are from the ages of 50 and above while those with underlined disease e.g. high blood pressure, diabetics, HIV Aids etc are at risk of being affected with the disease.

“As such, vaccination is the best way to protect everyone from this deadly disease, anybody that is vaccinated with different vaccines in first and second dose should report such case to the Ministry of Health or related authority. Same vaccination for first and second dose is encouraged.
