Petrol: Long Queue Surface In Zamfara State

Shortage of Petrol loomed Zamfara State as long queue resumed in a few filling stations dispensing fuel in Gusau the State Capital.

In an assessment tour by Radio Nigeria in Gusau, Tsafe, Bungudu and Talata Zamfara Local Government Areas of the State, it was observed that some of the filing stations were selling N180/litre which was above the approved price.

Despite the price, long queue and congestion were seriously alarming as some motorists lamented spending over 3 hours without getting the fuel, hence called on government to salvage the situation.

Nasiru Dahiru, a motorcyclist said, the shortage of fuel was a plus to the existing hardship in the state due to security challenges which led government to imposed some drastic measures which include banning of selling the petrol in Jerry-cans, selling not more than N1000 to motorcycles and N10,000 to Cars and closure of weekly markets.

Manager of a filling station in Gusau said, the problem was from the sources at Depots and transportation issues.
