Upgrade Standard of Education To Global System – Emir Urges Government

The Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has urged government and relevant stakeholders to intensify more efforts towards upgrading education according to international world practices.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero stated this during an occasion to mark Kano chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary schools (ASUSS) one year in office and award presentations to deserving secondary school teachers held at Murtala Muhammad library, Kano.

According to the Emir, education is the back bone of any meaningful society and as such, there was the urgent need to map out policies and programs to ensure provision of quality education to move the country forward.

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero who was represented by Alhaji Bello Ado Bayero, charged parents and guardians to complement government’s efforts by sending their wards to schools to inculcate good moral teachings to ensure a crime free society.

Earlier in his remarks, the chairman of Academic staff union of secondary schools Kano state chapter,Comrade Abdu Usman Yalo explained that the association was committed to training and retraining of teachers,organizing quiz and debates for students,provision of learning materials to some schools and maintaining cordial relationship with traditional institutions, Kano state ministry of education, SUBEB,KSSMB, among others

He pointed out that the current leadership of the association celebrated one year in office with an event as well as award presentations and commendation to deserving members to boost their morale.

Comrade Abdu Usman Yalo commended the Kano state government for its commitment towards the provision of free and compulsory education,improving teachers welfare,provision of infrastructures and learning materials as well as other policies aimed at ensuring that Kano competes with others globally in terms of educational standard.

The event was marked by host of activities including speech and award presentation, and witnessed large turn out of traditional rulers,government officials,teachers and the general public.
