NDLEA To Build Barracks Across 36 States, FCT

National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is to build barracks across the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

Chairman of the agency, retired Brigadier General Buba Marwa, stated this when he appeared before the House of representatives Committee on Narcotic Drugs and Financial Crimes for 2022 budget defence.

Brigadier General Buba Marwa, said the proposed barracks would increase the agency’s capacity to accommodation additional five thousand personnel currently undergoing training.

Chairman of the agency, who presented the budget of over thirty eight billion naira before the committee, called for improved funding to enable them curtail the activities of drug dealers who he said are becoming wary of the nation’s airports and borders.

In a remarks, the Chairman House committee on Narcotic Drugs and financial crimes Mr Francis Agbo, kicked against legalization of the use of cannabis in Nigeria while commending the NDLEA boss for reforming the agency within the short period of time.

He urged the Chairman of the agency not to relent in his effort in making the country drugs smuggling free and assured them of the house support to ensure the agency succeed.
