Jigawa Hisbah Confiscates Cartons Of Alcohol, Arrest Many Prostitutes

Jigawa State Hisba Command has apprehended over 40 miscreants and confiscated large cartons of alcohol in 17 major towns and villages in the State.

The State Commandant Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru Garki disclosed this in an interview with Radio Nigeria at the Command headquarters in Dutse.

He explained that, in the cause of the command’s special operation, 47 miscreants were apprehended.

According to him, the joint operations which include the Army, Police, and vigilante groups are in line with Governor Badaru’s directive to entrench moral discipline, cleanse the state from societal evils, and immortality.

Alhaji Ibrahim Garki said during the raid in different parts such as Gujungu in Taura local government area, succeeded in arresting a large number of commercial sex workers, and also a large consignment of cartons of alcoholic drinks which were ball prohibited under the tenet’s of Sharia being Jigawa as Sharia compliance state.

He pointed out that, in a similar raid in places like Chai-chai town in Ringim Local Government Area, the command had successfully closed down a large number of brothel homes, confiscated large cartons of beer, after which was handed to the Ringim DPO for onward court prosecution.

He said, at Kijawal town and Gujungu, the officials also apprehended 9 Jerry can of locally made beer popularly known as Burkutu owned by Kulawas alongside their harlots.

The Commandant noted that at Wadugur town in Ringim, a civil servant and a resident of the area caught harbouring harlots which after his arrest found in his custody some bottle of alcohol.

”In Dutse metropolitan we arrested many miscrends who are found harboring commercial sexual workers, narcotics, and wine where all was confisicated and handed both the accused person’s and their exhibits to the police”.

‘In Hadejia local government area, the command has also apprehended 12 commercial sex workers and 57 cartons of alcoholic drinks, he added

The Hisbah Boss, therefore, called on parents to be vigilant on their children at ensuring a disciplined society.
