Centre Donates Food Items to School for the Deaf

In fulfilling its cardinal mandate of assisting the less privileged especially persons living with disabilities, the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre Jos has donated food items to Plateau State School for the Deaf.

The Centre’s Director,Ayuba Gufwan made the presentation when he visited the school in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau state.

While presenting the foodstuffs to the management of the School, Ayuba lauded the resilience, determination and courage of the Students.

He noted that available statistics had shown that there were about thirteen Million out of School Children and people with disabilities.

The Director therefore urged them to work hard, take their studies seriously and work towards developing their potentials in order to contribute their quota to Nation building.

Gufwan while encouraging the Students, admonished them not to look at their disabilities as a death sentence but to cultivate the right attitude despite their predicament.

He said the intervention became necessary considering the food challenges being faced in the School.

The Director called on government, Organizations and well spirited individuals to come to the aid of the school with interventions that will address the food challenges, equip the library and motivate the Staff.

Principal of the School, Mrs Nanbam Silas in her remarks while receiving the donation on behalf of the School applauded the Centre for the humanitarian intervention to the School and for always identifying with them in their trying moments.

She described the Centre as a Messiah and Friend of the School.
She promised that the School will make good use of the food items and ensure the students are fed the Students well so they can produce better academic outcomes.

Head Girl of the School, Miss Nantagham Timothy and the Head Boy, Sylvanus Awulo who could not hide their joy lauded the centre for the humanitarian gesture and prayed God to open more doors so they can reach
out to more people.

The food items donated were Bags of Maize, Millet, Rice, Beans, Garri and Jerry Cans of Palm Oil amongst others.
