Anambra Election: No Threat Will Stop Us From Protecting Citizens- Police

Commissioner of Police in Anambra state Mr Echeng Echeng says no amount of threat will deter security agents in the area from protecting residents during and after the November 6th governorship election.

To this end, the Command has put every measure in place to ensure that all electorate and citizens who wish to participate in the election are safe and protected.

Addressing newsmen at the command headquarters Amawbia, in Awka South Local Government area, Mr Echeng said the command had been bold in confronting security challenges and also made several successes in curbing crimes in the state while new approaches to tackling security are being evolved.

On preparation for the November 6th governorship election, the Commissioner of Police said comprehensive watertight security was in place to make sure that no breach of security is experienced.

Mr ECheng said the Inspector General of Police is very passionate about the election and has given everything the command had requested for including helicopters for aerial surveillance, gunboats to Patrol the waterways and Vehicles to operate with during the election.

The Commissioner of Police asked the people to come out and cast their votes without any fear of intimidation as proper arrangements have been made to secure the state through a joint collaboration with other sister security agencies.
