Army Inducts Sixty Armored Personnel Carriers Into Theatre of Operation

Nigerian Army has re-iterated its commitment to working assiduously with relevant stakeholders, partners and other agencies in protecting the sovereignty of Nigeria.

Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Faruk Yahaya stated this at the handing over ceremony of sixty newly acquired Armoured Personnel Carriers between the Army and a manufacturing company in China-NORINCO held at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Jaji Kaduna.

Represented by Commander Infantry Corps, Major General Victor Ezugwu, the Army Chief assured that the Army would continue to take firm steps in curtailing activities of non-state actors and ensure that they are completely neutralized and annihilated.

Lt General Faruk Yahaya warned that any attempt to scuttle ongoing efforts of government by troops would be severely dealt with.

Earlier, Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Major General Maude Gadzama Ali assured the Army Chief that troops have been trained effectively on the equipment and the purpose for which they were purchased would be achieved.

He urged troops to employ the Armoured Personnel Carriers effectively and use them as the last broom to sweep the feet of insurgents out of Nigeria.

In a remark, representative of NORINCO, Mr Tian encouraged troops to put heads together in handling the equipment for effective service delivery.

He also urged them to make judicious use of the equipment through routine check and maintenance.
