Nuclear Energy Can Enhance Healthcare Delivery, Other Sectors – Experts

Enhancing nuclear security culture and its Peaceful usage has been described as modern way of uplifting healthcare service delivery and improved Agricultural product preservation.

Professor Rabia Salihu Said , of the department of physics,Bayero University Kano stated this during a workshop organized for female staff of the University on Nuclear Security Culture and it’s Peaceful usage held in Kano.

She said the objectives of the workshop was to train female experts on best practices of the Nuclear Security Culture and non proliferation.

Professor Rabi Salihu explained that the training will acquaint the participants on the positive usage of nuclear energy ,aimed at shifting their mindsets from atomic bomb other useful issues .

“This training will Enhance and brigde the Gap between female and male in the understanding of Nuclear,so that they would understand that nuclear is not only used for creating weapons ,rather it has several uses that are beneficial to man kind ,such as generating electricity,using it in the health sector to cure Cancer among others”

Presenting a paper titled safe guarding Nuclear Security a medical practitioner Dr Hadi Maibalangu said the International Atomic Energy Agency has taken necessary measure to ensure that countries who possess the technology do not divert it to other harmful sectors.

He noted that nuclear technology has a great impact in improving the health sector , citing city Scan technology as an example.

Dr Habiba Adamu Kakudi from computer Science Department and Dr Maryam lawal Umar from Sociology Department who were among the participants said they have a clear understanding of the importance of nuclear technology in human existence.

The workshop was attended by female experts and other stakeholders.
