Children: Niger State, UNICEF Dialogue On Back To School Campaign

About three percent of girl child in Niger state are out of school due to Covid 19 lockdown.

Director Planning Research and Statistics , Niger State Ministry of Education Malam Ishaku Nda disclosed this at a media dialogue on Back to School Campaign organised by UNICEF in Minna.

Malam Ishaku Nda explained that Niger state government is not resting on its oars to ensure that the children return to school in due course.

According to him, UNICEF has committed fifteen million naira to promote e_learning Programmes on Radio and Television during the Covid 19 lockdown.

Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu represented by the Permanent Secretary Alhaji Abubakar Sadik Balarabe said alot of efforts has been put in place to ensure that school children in Niger state received quality education with relative ease.

UNICEF Education Specialist Kaduna Field Office, Mr Francis Elisha said the essence of the dialogue is to partner with Media on massive enlightenment campaign on need for children to go to school.

Mr Francis Nda who identified media as strategic partners in the return to school campaign stressed the need for collaboration to succeed.
