FG Donates Relief Materials To Zamfara Following Telecom Shutdown

Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has provided relief materials to Zamfara State Government for distribution to people demoralized by the measures taken to address insecurity.

Presenting the items in Gusau the state capital the Minister, Hajiya Saadiya Umar Farouk said more materials would be provided to support the state to alleviate the suffering of the less privileged.

The Minister who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Minister on Political Matters Alhaji Musa Zubairu said, the minister was concerned with the situation of vulnerable communities affected by activities of bandits.

According to her, this was the second consignment of relief materials to the state, as similar gesture was given to the state earlier through the state ministry for humanitarian affairs.

Items provided to the state include; 1850 10kgbags of rice and 1850 10kg bags of white beans, 100 Bells of used cloth, 2500 one litre of cooking oil and 2500 of 1kgbags of salt, cartons of can tomatoes among others.

The Minister further explained that, the relief materials was provided to cushion the effect of hardship faced as result of security measures adopted by the state government in the fight against banditry.

Hajiya Saadiya said measures taken by the state government was making tremendous success, as such there was need for palliative for the people in the state.

Receiving the items the Permanent Secretary Office of the Executive Governor who doubles as Secretary State Collection and Distribution Palliative Committee, Abubakar Jafaru commended the effort of federal government and the minister for the gesture.

Abubakar Jafaru said government had also procured Forty trucks of assorted grace for distribution to people and called on other wealthy individuals to borrow leaf from the minister for donating to the state.

He assured to make judicious distribution of the items across the state to ease their sufferings.
