Corporate Affairs Commission CAC has completed the Incorporation of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited according to the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), signed into law this year.
The Act, requires the Minister of Petroleum Resources to cause for the incorporation of the NNPC Limited within six months of the enactment of the PIA in consultation with the Minister of Finance on the nominal shares of the Company.
A statement by the CAC Head of Media, Mahe Rasheed says the Registrar General (RG), Alhaji Garba Abubakar revealed this in Abuja while speaking at the Quarterly meeting of Heads of Agencies in the Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment.
Alhaji Garba Abubakar further stated that the registration was completed same day after fulfilling requirements set for the incorporation of the NNPC LIMITED.
It explained that the RG while updating the gathering on the digitization of the Trademark and Patent Registry being pursued by the CAC to ensure synergy and eliminate other possible conflicts said the project was awaiting clearance from the National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA.

On the 250,000 Business names registration freely sponsored by the federal government, Mahe Rasheed acknowledged that despite suffering a delay from one of the selected Aggregators, CAC had less than 3,000 applications to wind up and therefore committed to ensuring completion by the first week of October 2021.
Declaring open the meeting earlier, the Minister of Industry Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo said the event was being held quarterly to asses amongst others challenges and way forward for the agencies under the ministries purview.
Otunba Adebayo charged the agencies to ensure more commitment and dedication to service for the overall growth of the economy.
In her remark, the Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Ambassador Maryam Katagum gave an update on the implementation of the Covid-19 Survival Fund describing it as a tough and challenging experience.
Ambassador Maryam Katagum however said the programme was a huge success and was due for wind up soon.
The head of the media, Mahe Rasheed hinted that the meeting was well attended by no less than 18 Heads of Agencies and Directors in the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
