PDP Suspends Gubernatorial Candidate In Borno

The People’s Democratic Party PDP has suspended Borno state gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 general election Alhaji Mohammed Imam and former state factional chairman of the party Zanna Gaddama for alleged anti-party activities.

At a media briefing in Maiduguri, state secretary of the Party Yusuf Dikko accused the two party stalwarts for hijacking the congress forms meant to be handled by the state Party chairman Alhaji Usman Baderi.

According to him, PDP has slated 25th September for the conduct of party congresses, however the leadership of the party in Borno state is not in possession of the forms.

The state Secretary said they have written to the national headquarters of the party to intervene.

“Going by what is happening now and their refusal to answer queries given to them by the disciplinary committee, the state working committee sat with stakeholders of our party and finally resolved to uphold the suspension of two party members Honourable Mohammed Imam and Honourable Zanna Gaddama “.

Yusuf Dikko said the party in Borno state has been in court for more that three years and in March this year, the Supreme Court declared Alhaji Usman Baderi as the authentic Chairman, alleging that the two suspended members refused to obey the Supreme Court judgment.

He enjoined party members to continue to be loyal and work together for the progress of PDP.
